WHO IS YOUR BLOGGER?
For a long time after losing my beloved husband, I didn’t feel ready to engage in a new relationship. When I did put myself out there — wow, what a culture shock! This blog is my attempt to help other 60-plus women (and men) understand what has happened to relationship-building since you and I were dating in college, some decades ago.
I have counseled couples with frayed marriages and worked with bereaved spouses, drawing on my own experience as a widow. I’ve been a university instructor, a filmmaker, a magazine editor, and a consultant on women in the workforce. I have lived and worked abroad and I’ve led U.S. government-sponsored workshops in sixteen states. I’ve been a workshop developer and facilitator. My most recent interest is helping women re-enter the dating game after living in the shelter of marriages that have ended because of death or divorce.
THE STORIES IN THE DATING GALLERY ARE TRUE
All the men are real people. Their names are obviously changed, and minor details (such as where we met or where they live) have been altered. Relationships with the Dating Gallery men are described with humorous intent, never with scorn. If a few of them look foolish, it’s no worse than the rest of us might sometimes look to others.
